Thank you for the detailed explanation and relevant recommendations! Upon reflection of my parenting prior to my sons' referrals and evaluations over a decade ago, your stack rings true and is likely to help future 2e parents/evaluators. I'm currently reading the updated Dyslexic Advantage book and am enjoying learning about the positive MIND strengths associated with slow or Dyslexic processing and applying those understandings to my parenting relationship of my now adult sons. I have found it frustrating to wish I knew then what I know now... here's to more understanding for all and being supportive encouragers of lifelong learning, understanding, empathy and growth among all those with whom we connect, especially those who are navigating life through an asynchronous 2e lens.

The idea that sometimes information gets stored rapidly but not in an organized or easily retrievable way is so true!

I would encourage taking a look at the research on learning styles and the learning hierarchy. Learning styles or the idea of being or not being a visual learner has been debunked but is quite a pervasive educational myth. Fluency is an important part of the learning hierarchy and timing has a good research base, however, timing in the wrong stage of the learning hierarchy can definitely cause frustration.
